The Telecommunications Site Analysis that SEH completed for the City of Eagan, MN was presented an Honor Award as part of the Minnesota-ACEC 2009 Engineering Excellence Awards competition.
“The Eagan Telecommunications Site Analysis is a great example of SEH’s ability to tailor services to meet client needs,” noted Project Manager Dan Zienty. SEH had initially proposed partnering with the City to develop a comprehensive approach to managing its telecommunications tenants at its water storage facilities. The original concept was to provide inventoried data in an electronic CAD format. However, SEH took a “what if” approach that resulted in developing a Geodatabase filing system as part of an overall management solution.
SEH completed a comprehensive analysis of the City’s lease application process and master lease, conducted site surveys, and completed structural assessments associated with supporting tenant equipment. Organizing the collected data into an ESRI Personal Geodatabase was a particularly innovative feature that provided a true “value added” benefit to the City, the telecommunications tenants, and ultimately, the taxpaying public.
The SEH Project Team included Dan Zienty, Becky Blue, Dan Carlson, Andy Terry, Randy Fox, and Al Everson.
