Terry Wotzka, PE, was awarded the title of Engineer of the Year by the City Engineers Association of Minnesota (CEAM) on January 26, 2005 at their annual conference. This award is rarely given to a consulting engineer. Terry has been with SEH for 18 years, and serves as the city engineer for the cities of Sauk Rapids and Waite Park. The City of Sauk Rapids nominated Terry for his exceptional work and commitment to public involvement on a controversial bridge project that impacted several communities, counties, a township and a planning organization. Selection criteria included engineering achievements, technical/professional society activities, continuing competence efforts, educational and collegiate achievements and civic and humanitarian activities. “I have had the pleasure of working with Terry for the past four years, and have developed a level of professional respect and trust that makes him much more than a consultant to our community,” Sauk Rapids City Administrator Ross Olson said. “Terry has, to me, become a trusted advisor, coworker and friend, as well as a passionate advocate for our community.” CEAM is a professional organization of civil engineers who work for municipalities throughout Minnesota. The Association's purposes are: to further the education and welfare of one another, to promote the interchange of helpful ideas and information, to work constructively toward the advancement and improvement of the engineering profession, and to seek ways and means by which we may be more useful and efficient to those whom we serve. |
