APWA Excellence in Education Award

Lloyd Pauly was named as the recipient of the 2008 APWA Donald C. Stone Award for Excellence in Education. The award recognizes the outstanding achievement of individuals contributing to continuing and graduate professional education for public works professionals, as well as in helping chapters in their efforts to deliver educational opportunities for public works staffing.

Throughout his 42-year membership in the Minnesota Chapter of APWA, Lloyd has actively developed, taught, and supported many of the Chapter’s educational offerings. Lloyd’s leadership has helped create a strong foundation for the Chapter’s emphasis on public works continuing education. As a result, the Minnesota Chapter is a leader in offering a wide variety of education and training opportunities to a broad spectrum of public works service providers. This enables the Chapter to contribute to the development of first class public works practitioners and fulfills the APWA mission to promote “professional excellence and public understanding through education, advocacy, and the exchange of knowledge.”

Lloyd serves as a Local Government Market Specialist in SEH’s Minnetonka, Minnesota office. Prior to joining SEH, he served for many years as both the Director of Public Works and the Director of Emergency Management for the City of Minnetonka.
