SEH was established through serving municipal, regional, state, tribal and federal clients. We work closely with our public clients within the context and budget of their projects to deliver safe, efficient and timely results. They benefit from innovative practices and technology, and SEH delivers the most streamlined service appropriately suited to our clients' needs — regardless of the size of the project. 

Municipalities and Counties

SEH serves as the City Engineer for numerous communities across the Midwest, and many of these relationships span decades.

Many of the professionals who make up our firm have served in a public capacity as Public Works Directors, City Administrators, Community Development Specialists, Planning Directors and more.

Developing local infrastructure and helping you to manage those assets serve as the backbone of our work, and it often starts with identifying funding sources. Our funding experts work with you to initiate your project, and our engineers, architects, planners and scientists work with your city staff to implement the projects.  

Regional Agencies

SEH works with a wide array of Planning Districts, Sanitary Sewer Districts, Watershed Districts and several other types of regional agencies. Our multidisciplined, single-source approach covers all facets of our regional clients' needs, including planning, analysis, design, permitting and construction assistance.

State Organizations

Our work with state organizations spans the nation. We work with a number of state transportation organizations, as our innovative and sustainable solutions are sought after by clients and those with whom we partner.

State environmental organizations use a wide array of our services, such as compliance, natural resources, environmental assessment and environmental impact statements, and the list goes on. We also work closely with Departments of Natural Resources. 

Tribal

SEH has gained considerable expertise working with Indian Tribes on a wide range of environmental, infrastructure, and energy projects. SEH works across Indian Country to obtain funding from a variety of state and federal sources to support Tribal projects. SEH also works directly with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and other agencies when projects are located on tribal lands.

Federal

SEH provides planning, design and construction services for our federal clients such as the National Guard, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the National Park Service, the Forest Service, the Federal Highways Administration, Fish and Wildlife Service, Department of Energy, Department of Defense, Bureau of Reclamation, Bureau of Land Management, the Veterans Administration and the General Services Administration. SEH is a corporate member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and has LEED Accredited Professionals on staff to work closely with a large number and variety of federal agencies located throughout the U.S. SEH holds GSA Schedule contracts for professional engineering and environmental services. From fire stations to flood control facilities and ecosystem protection and restoration, we deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.
