Federal Transportation Enhancements Fund

Transportation Enhancement (TE) activities are a federally funded program. Eligible use of funds include: facilities for pedestrians or bicycles, safety/educational activities for pedestrians and bicyclists, acquisition of scenic easement and scenic or historic sites, landscaping/other scenic beautification, historic preservation, rehab/operation of historic transportation buildings, structures or facilities, preservation of abandoned railway corridors, control and removal of outdoor advertising, archaeological planning and research and establishment of transportation museums

Eligible Applicants: State-aid cities and counties

Funds Available: up to 80% of construction costs

Restrictions: Managed by area Department of Transportation Districts; must adhere to Federal Transportation Design Guidelines
