Briefing Number 2, June 2004 Wisconsin Legislation Requires Documentation for New Wastewater and Collection Permit Beginning in 2005, Wisconsin legislation will require specific documentation from communities applying for 2005 permits for their wastewater treatment plants and collection systems. The new requirements are in response to the DNR’s changes to the Wisconsin Administrative Code regarding sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) and documentation required for capacity, management, operation and maintenance. The legislation helps to eliminate the potential for sanitary sewer overflows. As you know, permits are required every five years. To receive its 2005 permit, your community must submit a written Capacity Assurance, Management, Operation and Maintenance (CMOM) plan for your community.
