The Minnesota Transportation Alliance awarded Chuck Siggerud, PE, with the 2005 Richard J. Mathiowetz Transportation Advocate Award for dedicating 49 years of service to improving Minnesota’s transportation system. Chuck joined SEH’s transportation team in 1997, previously serving as Mn/DOT’s Metropolitan Division Engineer. |

The Colorado/Wyoming section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) presented Ron Hensen, PhD, PE, with a Lifetime Achievement Award. ITE honored Hensen for his 35 years of fostering the growth and development of the traffic engineering profession throughout Colorado. Ron is a recognized traffic engineering researcher and teacher. |
Welcome Our New Board of Directors
SEH named Dan Boxrud, PE, and Joel Dresel, PE, LS, as new Board of Directors members, and re-elected Jeff Evrard as an external board member.

Dan Boxrud’s tenure with SEH spans 28 years of his 33-year engineering career. He serves as the firm’s civil market center’s Regional Operations Manager for the Twin Cities Metropolitan area, in addition to his project manager role for municipal infrastructure services. He also serves as a Client Service Manager for the cities of Long Lake, Brownton and Crystal, Minn., and the Three Rivers Park District in Minnesota. Boxrud previously served on the SEH Board of Directors for 16 non-consecutive years. |

Joel Dresel joined SEH 10 years ago and serves as the Director of the aviation market center, serving clients in each of SEH’s three regions. Serving also as the Aviation Operations Manager, he provides technical services to several key clients, including the Minnesota Metropolitan Airports Commission and the Brainerd Lakes Regional Airport in northern Minnesota. Dresel has nine years of direct airport planning and design experience and more than 22 years of consulting engineering experience. |

Jeff Evrard was re-elected as an external director of SEH’s Board of Directors. SEH secures outside expertise to achieve membership diversity and gain different business perspectives. Formally serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Naegele Outdoor Advertising, Evrard formed a successful new outdoor advertising business named Delite Outdoor of which he sold to a large publicly held company. Currently, Evrard has begun a new endeavor, Balsam Properties LLC, a privately held Real Estate business. |

SEH named seven new stockholders this winter. The Board of Directors selects stockholders based on exceptional leadership abilities, high-level financial performance and demonstrated commitment to client service. This year’s stockholders are:

Sheryl Flor, PE, serves as the Rice Lake, Wis., Regional Market Center Leader for the civil team. She joined the firm five years ago as a Project Manager providing civil and architectural services for the northwest Wisconsin area. Sheryl also serves as a Client Service Manager for the cities of Chetek and Spooner, Wis., and Washburn and Burnett counties in Wisconsin, offering technical counsel and expertise. |

Dick Grabko joined SEH in 1999 as the Community and Economic Development Group Director responsible for securing funds to finance client projects in the Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin markets. He identifies and implements funding applications for SEH clients, serves on financial advisory teams, and stays abreast of the latest financial opportunities and funding initiatives. Under Dick’s leadership, the Community and Economic Development Group successfully secured more than $100 million for SEH clients over the last three years. |

Joe Henderson, PE, PTOE, serves as a Senior Professional Engineer for the firm’s Western Region. He also serves as the Traffic Engineering Practice Center Leader providing technical expertise in traffic design and supporting internal clients as a mentor and advisor. In 2005, Joe successfully managed 48 traffic engineering projects, functioning as a City Traffic Engineer for several clients. He joined SEH in 1998 and has 20 years of engineering experience. |

Ron Leaf, PE, joined SEH in 2001 and currently serves as the Water Resources Practice Center Leader providing water resources technical support and leadership across SEH’s three regions. His expertise and strategic direction helped SEH increase its water resources clientele and advance the water resources unit and offered services. With more than 13 years experience, Ron serves as a Client Service Manager for several private clients, and as a Project Manager for private clients and numerous cities in Minnesota. |

Brian Meyer, PE, Dakota, Iowa and southwest Minnesota. His responsibilities include managing aviation projects, providing engineering expertise, marketing SEH’s aviation services and supervising staff. Brian joined SEH in 2001 and has 21 years of engineering experience. He recently assumed the role as the Sioux Falls, S.D., Office Manager responsible for the office’s growth in staff and revenue. |

Jeff Tillman, PE, joined SEH 10 years ago as a Project Manager and Client Service Manager for the civil market center in the Grand Rapids, Minn., office. He has served as the designated city engineer for several municipal clients in northeast Minnesota, and currently focuses his efforts on serving the City of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Itasca County in Minnesota. Jeff also serves as the Grand Rapid’s Civil Market Center Leader responsible for the civil team’s financial growth and performance. |

Scott Weyandt, PE,a transportation engineer of 21 years, serves clients in the Duluth, Minn., and Superior, Wis., areas as a Client Service Manager and Project Manager. He provides technical counsel in highway design and water resources. He also serves as the Office Market Center Leader providing transportation support and expertise to the region. Scott played an instrumental role in introducing the City of Superior to the firm's full complement of services, allowing the City to confidently expand from being a primarily transportation and solid waste client to a multidisciplined services client. |

Richard Potz, Principal/Project Manager, retires after a long tenure with SEH. As a valued member of our Civil Engineering Team since 1969, Richard worked on municipal transportation systems, wastewater, drainage and stormwater projects for more than 30 municipalities and the Minnesota Department of Transportation. |

Noel Vogen, PE, culminated his career as Principal/Structural and Civil Engineer. Over the course of 40 years, Noel designed or managed elevated water reservoirs, water treatment plants, water wells, aggregate bin supports and power plants (including additions and structural alternations) for clients throughout Minnesota and Iowa. |
