	Building Dedicated to SEH Employee The City of Minneapolis dedicated its Currie Public Works Maintenance Facility to SEH Client Service Manager David Sonnenberg, PE. Dave formerly served as the Minneapolis City Engineer and as the City’s Public Works Director. The facility was completed during Dave’s tenure as City Engineer. He receives this dedication for his leadership, commitment, and vision in providing outstanding public works services to Minneapolis and its residents.
	Beattie Joins Aviation Leadership Team Tom Beattie was recently appointed as the Western Region Aviation Regional Leader. SEH’s Western Region encompasses Colorado and Wyoming. In his new role, Tom leads aviation projects and the Aviation Team. Tom joined SEH in 2003, and in this past year was also named as an SEH Associate.
	Foderberg Receives ITS Lifetime Achievement Award The Minnesota Chapter of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) honored SEH ITS Consultant Dennis Foderberg with a 2008 ITS Minnesota Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to ITS Minnesota. He has served in several capacities in ITS, including President, Board of Directors member, and Conference Chair.
	Scott Recipient of Distinguished Engineer Award James Scott, PE, received the Charles W. Britzius Distinguished Engineer Award. The award recognizes outstanding lifetime achievements in the practice of engineering, contributions to the engineering profession, and actions to enhance the engineering industry.
	SEH Co-founder Named Hall of Famer The late Norman Hendrickson, SEH co-founder, was recently inducted into the Minnesota Aviation Hall of Fame. He is recognized for his commitment and service to the aviation industry. Norman’s life encompassed a multitude of accomplishments, including joining the navy at age 17 and earning his wings during World War II. Norman passed away on Oct. 31, 2006, at the age of 81.

SEH Opens Mankato Office

SEH services and resources are now closer to our clients in south central Minnesota with the opening of our new Mankato, Minn., office located at 12 Civic Center Plaza, Suite 2088. Mankato is 75 miles south of the Minnesota’s Twin Cities metropolitan area, and only 35 miles southeast of SEH’s Gaylord, Minn., office. Chris Cavett, PE, will lead the Mankato team of engineers, architects, planners, and surveyors.

SEH Named a Top Environmental Firm

SEH ranked 10th in Milwaukee’s Top 25 Environmental Consultants ranking based on 2007 environmental billings. The results were published in the Milwaukee Business Journal.

SEH Awarded GSA Contract

The General Services Administration awarded SEH two Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contracts, allowing SEH to provide its services to new federal and non-federal clients without the formal bid/award process. SEH’s contract number for Professional Engineering Services is GS-10F-0073U.

Marquette Plan Wins Second Award

The Marquette Plan, Indiana’s Lakeshore Reinvestment Strategy, won the 2007 Burnham Award for Excellence in Planning from the Metropolitan Planning Council. SEH served on a multidisciplinary team as the local engineer and economic development specialist for the project. The Marquette Plan outlines a strategy for attracting jobs and retail opportunities to the beachfront communities of Northwest Indiana and for enhancing the region’s most valuable natural resource, Lake Michigan. The Marquette Plan, which covers nearly 25 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, seeks to improve area quality of life and to increase public access to Lake Michigan, including a pedestrian and bicycle trail stretching from the Illinois border to Portage, Ind. The plan received a 2005 Merit Award for Planning from the Illinois Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
