Andy Terry Joins SEH

SEH Hires Director of Intelligent Transportation and Public Safety Services.

Andy Terry, PE, recently joined Minnesota’s largest engineering firm SEH as Director of Intelligent Transportation and Public Safety Services to manage the firm’s intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and public safety communication initiatives. Terry specializes in ITS and public safety design and project management; development of technology management vision, policies, and implementation strategies; and cultivating diverse stakeholder relationships.

In his 18 years at the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Terry served in various technology management functions, such as Radio System Engineer, State Patrol Project Engineer, and as the Director of the Office of Electronic Communications, which serves the ITS and public safety communications needs of multiple state agencies.

Before joining SEH, Terry was involved in several high-level strategic initiatives, including developing nine regional traffic operations and public safety dispatch centers, improving the statewide mobile data network for the Minnesota State Patrol, and helping to create Minnesota's shared public safety radio system (ARMER) that serves more than 18,000 diverse public service users. He has actively served on several committees, including the Minnesota Guidestar Board, the National Public Safety Plan Advisory Committee, and the Statewide Radio Board. He is currently chair of the Dedicated Short Range Communications Subcommittee on Public Safety and Diagnostic.

With a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in management of technology from the University of Minnesota, Terry will manage ITS and public safety communication projects, enter SEH into the public safety communications market, and expand SEH’s ITS presence.
