Lake View Dual Zone Reservoir Project Receives Two ACEC Awards

June 21, 2018

The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and ACEC-WI honored SEH with an Honor Award and Best of State Award for the Lake View dual zone reservoir project in Madison, Wisconsin.

This complex water supply storage tower features two separate storage tanks within a single reservoir structure to uniquely accommodate two supply zones and two pressure levels. The system provides storage of 300,000 gallons of water for one pressure zone and one million gallons of water for the other.

The project required the 55,000-gallon water tower to be demolished, a process that was complicated due to the proximity of a busy airport, a historically significant building and multiple cellular communications systems.

Each year, more than 60 member firms submit projects to the ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards. They are judged by a panel of industry experts on a set of criteria, which includes complexity, innovation and value to communities.
