Kathy Crowson, PE, has joined SEH as a senior operations specialist.
She will be helping both municipal and industrial clients build safe, cost-effective operations and environmentally sound practices within their wastewater treatment plants.
I join SEH after two decades working for a utility, mostly in the operations of an advanced wastewater plant. There, I took pride in being able to adjust how the equipment and processes ran to get the desired result—clean water—at the lowest cost. At SEH, I plan to do the same.
Kathy will be bringing that same commitment to SEH wastewater clients through her work on process optimization and troubleshooting, commissioning facilities, and O&M training. She will also serve as part of the design team throughout the project with specific emphasis on working with the client’s operation team to efficiently integrate the project into existing facility operations. Finally, she will be a key member of the wastewater practice center business development team.
Kathy has more than 25 years of expertise in wastewater treatment facilities and management, biosolids production and refuse derived fuel processing. She’s worked at Western Lake Superior Sanitary District in Duluth, Minnesota. She gained regulatory compliance experience at Metropolitan Council in the industrial waste division, and consulting experience managing and conducting environmental reviews at EnPro Assessment.
We are very excited to have Kathy join our SEH wastewater team! Her 20-plus years of operations and maintenance experience, plus her leadership experience, will be a huge benefit to SEH and our clients.
Kathy and her husband Jack currently live in Duluth, Minnesota. They also have a small farm in Houghton, Michigan where they tend to their apple trees and blackberries. In their down time, they enjoy traveling to find cool places to cross country ski and mountain bike. The most important people in her life are their three sons—ranging from 18 to 25 years old—who are all starting their own life adventures.
