|
November 7, 2012
Utilities and Streets
Work completed as of the week ending 11/09/12
-
All paving of the first layer of asphalt was completed as of Wednesday.
-
Concrete sidewalk and driveway apron work continued.
Work expected before freeze-up:
-
Contractor should finish concrete work, topsoil placement, and seeding.
-
Sanitary sewer work in the alleys will begin shortly. This work will be accomplished mostly by a non excavation lining technique that puts a new pipe inside the old one. Individual service connections to homes may still require excavation.
Water Tower / Water Filter
This week
-
Contractor will finalize communications antenna installation between the water filter and the water tower. Once completed, the contractor will turn on the water tower.
Week of November 12th
-
City will be flushing water mains. With the reduced water usage during construction, there may be some settled minerals in the water mains. Flushing the water mains will help purge this sediment out of the system. During flushing you will want to continue to keep your water softeners off line (just like during construction) until the system is back to normal
Week of November 19th
-
Formal startup of the system is expected this week. Water usage should be back to normal for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
