North Laramie Drainage Master Plan

The City of Laramie is faced with the immediate challenge of an insufficient drainage system that does not adequately control flooding in North Laramie. The City of Laramie and SEH are preparing a Drainage Master Plan for North Laramie to alleviate these challenges and pave the way for future development. With focus along Reynolds Street, the North Laramie project encompasses the area north of the Jacoby Golf Course, north of the University of Wyoming campus and north of and incorporating portions of Labonte Park, and is bounded by 45th Street on the east and by the Union Pacific Railroad on the west. The goals of the North Laramie Drainage Master Plan project include gaining insight from the public through public meetings, protecting the watershed, performing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, utilizing the existing infrastructure to its fullest potential, determining existing and future improvements and calculating a best value cost and conveying the Drainage Master Plan information in a format understood by the public and future developers. The Drainage Master Plan will be a “living” document that will include existing infrastructure and can be updated as changes occur within North Laramie.
