Highway 7/Louisiana Avenue Interchange Project

Construction Continues Through the Winter 2013/2014

Construction on the St. Louis Park led conversion of the existing Highway 7 and Louisiana Avenue intersection to an interchange will continue throughout the winter as weather allows. Highway 7 traffic has switched to a temporary bypass. Primary construction activity this winter includes pile driving and bridge abutment and pier construction. Construction crews will not work when the temperature is -10 degrees or if the wind chill factor is -10 degrees.

Traffic Impacts

A significant portion of the work will affect traffic and is likely to result in congestion. Expect temporary lane closures and detours as work is completed within segments of the roadway. All businesses and residences will remain accessible throughout the project.

How do I Reach Local Businesses?

State statute requires that businesses remain accessible during state road construction projects. If a construction project requires temporarily closing a prominent route to a local business, a secondary access route will be available. Contact the local business for directions or visit the project’s Web site for suggested detour routes.
