Rock Springs to Green River
Route Feasibility Study

Background:

The Cities of Rock Springs and Green River along with Sweetwater County and the Wyoming Department of Transportation are exploring possible routes for a new road between the two cities. A conceptual design study is being performed to look at various routes.

Designs currently under consideration:

• Green River Chamber of Commerce
  "Property along the road would be extremely attractive to new businesses. The road would also provide several safety factors. . ." Read the entire letter
• Sweda Economic Development Association
  "Construction of a secondary road would have positive impacts on the communities. Not only will it provide an alternative route for emergency vehicles, but would open up new areas for growth and development along the new corridor." Read the entire letter.
• Wyoming Department of Transportation

Open House Held

April 9, 2008

An Open House was held at the Green River City Council Chambers on April 9, 2008. Two formal presentations followed by a question and answer sessions; and display of conceptual roadway alignments and cost estimates were available for public review.
