A Project Update for the Week of April 7 through April 21, 2008

• On Tuesday, April 8th, Planning Consultant Michael Darrow met with the County Board to discuss updates to the Zoning Ordinance. The County Board directed the Planning Department and Consultant to eliminate the Feedlot Hearing Board option as part of the Zoning Update. At their direction, a check-list will be established to assist the County Board and Planning Commission in making decisions related to feedlots. This check-list will be a stand-alone document and will not part of the Zoning Ordinance. No further updates to the existing feedlot section of the ordinance will be established, unless directed by the County Board.
• Mr. Darrow will plan to attend a future County Board meeting to update the Board on the Sensitive Land Overlay District and Agricultural Preservation District. This will occur in late April or early May.
• On April 16th (1:30-3:30), the Zoning Ordinance Task Force will meet. Below is the agenda for that meeting:

  a. Agree on Agenda for the Meeting

  b. Review strike-through document

  c. Questions on the project, to date

  d. Update from County Board Meeting

  3. Discuss Sensitive Land District (PowerPoint)

  6. Discussion of Next Task Force Meeting

  7. Adjourn
