This award-winning first of its kind project in the Twin Cities metropolitan area featured the Cities of Fridley, Golden Valley, and Hutchinson entering into a Cooperative Project Agreement to rehabilitate up to 1,750 feet of 8-inch and 4,680 feet of 12-inch trunk water main pipe with the City of Golden Valley acting as the contracting authority. Subsequent bid unit prices caused only Golden Valley to proceed with lining its 1,750 feet of 8-inch pipe along Boone Avenue. SEH will assist these three Cities rebid the remaining balance of their work during spring 2011. 

Features

• Provide continuous water service to affected property owners along this Boone Avenue in this existing business park using a temporary trunk water main pipe and water service pipe network.
• Keep Boone Avenue and its driveways continuously open by excavating only small access pits at key locations for liner installation
• Cause no interference with the operation of the Union Pacific Railroad track that crossed over the trunk water main pipe needing rehabilitation

SEH Services

• Coordinate the production of bidding documents from three Cities into one bid package that would appeal to lining contractors currently all located outside the state of Minnesota.
• Prepare bid document plan sheets and project manual.
• Prepare an engineer's opinion of probable cost.
• Provide bidding assistance phase services.
• Provide construction phase administration and inspection services.
