The City of Golden Valley Environmental Commission issued a resolution requesting a Natural Resources Inventory and land cover classification using the Minnesota Land Cover Classification System (MLCCS) for the entire city. The objectives included identifying and mapping key natural resources, identifying management needs, and completing a missing portion of a larger effort to MLCCS to classify the entire Twin Cities Metropolitan region. The results provide stakeholders with a natural resource management and planning tool.
