Flood Funding Services

There are upcoming funding opportunities through your State’s bonding cycle. Position your community NOW!

Communities that prepare a Comprehensive Flood Protection Plan (FPP) are more likely to receive flood mitigation money from State funding sources. The time is now to develop a FPP that identifies:

  • Problems with existing flood protection systems
  • Flood mitigation improvement strategies and design
  • Comprehensive cost analysis for construction alternatives

Case Study: City of Crookston, Minn.
SEH worked with the City of Crookston to develop a comprehensive flood risk management plan for the entire City. The plan included preliminary design, preliminary construction plans, estimates of construction cost, and a proposed construction schedule.

Armed with this information, SEH and Crookston representatives were able to provide funding agencies with shovel-ready projects that included thorough plans for design and construction cost estimates. Because the City of Crookston took the time and effort to develop a comprehensive FPP with measurable goals, state funding agencies were more willing to provide the City with funding for their flood risk management projects.
