The events of September 11, 2001, have demonstrated the importance of emergency preparedness. The Emergency Operations Plan is the framework for a coordinated and effective response to any type of emergency or disaster. SEH is prepared to help strengthen your response capabilities with exercises and drills designed to test and evaluate your Emergency Operations Plan.

From the simple drill to the full-scale exercise, SEH will help develop the right activity to effectively test your readiness, highlight your strengths and weaknesses, and provide a practical and valuable evaluation of your Emergency Operations Plan.

Tabletop Exercise

• Scenario-driven exercise; can be real-time or informational
• Focuses on the emergency management team and their roles and responsibilities
• Practice emergency management skills and build confidence in the Emergency

Operations Plan Drill

• Usually a single-function event used to practice specific skills
• Focuses on building or refreshing skills based on standard operating procedures

Functional Exercise

• Scenario-driven, real-time exercise
• Used to practice specific parts of a plan
• Focuses on practicing management or activity skills, building coordination and team work

Full Scale Exercise

• Simulation of an actual disaster or emergency event
• Real-time exercise that includes props, equipment and special effects
• Focuses on all aspects of an Emergency Operations Plan and builds team work and communication among participants
• Requires a high degree of training, organization and planning
