Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)

The primary goal of the storm water pollution prevention program (SWPPP) is to improve the quality of surface waters by reducing the amount of pollutants contained in storm water runoff. As part of preparing a SWPPP, we address potential sources of storm water pollution including parking lots, outdoor chemical or other material storage areas. We will describe facility operations and recommend best management practices (BMPs) or pollution control measures to manage peak flow and reduce the discharge of pollutants. The SWPPP will identify provisions for long-term maintenance of permanent structures and will include a description of practices to manage impacts from runoff volume and potential pollutants.

Best Management Practices

  • Stormwater treatments and BMPs
  • Bioretention (rain gardens)
  • Infiltration basin
  • Infiltration trench
  • Sand filters
  • Stormwater ponds
  • Underground infiltration
  • Vegetated filters

Our Plans :

  • Identify potential sources of contamination to the storm water drainage system
  • Identify and prescribe appropriate source area control BMPs to prevent contamination
  • Identify and prescribe storm water treatment BMPs to reduce pollutants in contaminated storm water prior to discharge
  • Prescribe actions needed to eliminate non-storm water discharges from the drainage system or bring them under a NPDES permit
  • Prescribe an implementation schedule for recommended actions and for regular evaluation
