Establishing a Reliable Baseline for Future Telecommunications Installations

Written by SEH | March 27, 2024

Challenge

The Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority needed a clear picture of the telecommunications equipment on its facilities to establish a baseline for future carrier installations an upgrades to existing equipment.

Solution

The SEH telecommunications team provided a site inspection and audit of two water tower sites also serving as venues for telecommunications transmission. SEH worked with RWSA staff to gather historical information related to the facilities themselves and the installation of present site tenants. This information include as-built drawings related to the original construction of these facilities, along with documentation related to tower maintenance. It further included tenant information such as site leases, as-built drawings, and corresponding structural analysis specific to each install. This work was followed by the conducting of an on-site audit, or accounting, of tenant ground equipment, cables, and antenna including ownership, location, and type. This information was then presented to RWSA in the form of a comprehensive report to be used by RWSA and its present and future Tenants.
