SEH Project Earns Minnesota Brownfields Community Impact Award

Written by SEH | June 5, 2026

Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH®) earned a 2026 Minnesota Brownfields ReScape Community Impact – Small Project Award for its role in redeveloping the Voyageurs National Park Crane Lake Visitor Center in Crane Lake, Minnesota.

The award recognizes projects that transform contaminated properties into assets that support community use and long-term environmental stewardship.

This project is a true community win. Our team helped turn a former resort site into a much-needed gateway to Voyageurs National Park – cleaning up the property while protecting the surrounding environment. Beyond welcoming visitors, the facility serves as a hub for residents and supports tourism, which is vital to the Crane Lake economy. - Jason Chopp, PE*, SEH Project Manager

SEH served as the lead consultant for brownfield investigation, remediation coordination, and engineering design, working closely with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and project partners.
