SEH Earns Multiple ACEC Engineering Awards

Five SEH projects were recognized through the 2026 Engineering Excellence Awards programs by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Minnesota, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

ACEC Minnesota Grand Award
Twin Ports Interchange ǀ Duluth, Minnesota

The Twin Ports Interchange project addressed complex site conditions while improving safety, mobility, and efficiency along a critical transportation corridor in Duluth. ACEC Minnesota judges recognized the project for its complexity, challenging site conditions, and significant safety and efficiency improvements, calling it a model for similar projects nationwide.

 

ACEC Minnesota Honor Award
Carlton Wastewater Pump Station Replacement ǀ Carlton, Minnesota

Designed to enhance wastewater reliability and support future growth, the Carlton Wastewater Pump Station Replacement project delivers resilient performance within a highly constrained site. The project includes Minnesota’s first surge tank installed on a wastewater line, along with a dual‑mode surge tank operation also recognized as a first for the state, and operator‑focused features that protect critical infrastructure while strengthening long‑term system performance and flexibility.

 

ACEC Virginia Honor Award
Comprehensive Waterworks Evaluation and Cost Estimate Study ǀ Richmond, Virginia

Following a major operational failure at a municipal waterworks facility, the Comprehensive Waterworks Evaluation and Cost Estimate Study project delivered an independent root-cause investigation and high-level needs assessment. The effort provided technical insight to guide regulatory decisions, prioritize long-term resiliency improvements, and support public confidence in the system.

 

ACEC Wisconsin State Finalist Award
Oaks of Jackson Housing Development ǀ Jackson, Wisconsin

The Oaks of Jackson Housing Development project advanced a 20-acre residential subdivision designed to expand high-quality, attainable housing. The effort balanced affordability, quality, and long-term community value through efficient roadway and utility design.

 

ACEC Wisconsin State Finalist Award
Rice Lake Main Street Renovation ǀ Rice Lake, Wisconsin

Guided by strong community engagement, the Rice Lake Main Street Renovation project transformed downtown into a safer, more welcoming corridor for pedestrians, businesses, and visitors. The project paired placemaking with practical engineering improvements to strengthen identity, connectivity, and long-term vitality.
