At SEH, employee-owners make a difference through the way they support one another, serve clients, and respond when challenges arise. The Act of Excellence (AOE) program recognizes both those moments and the people behind them.
Through peer nominations, the AOE Committee selects honorees in three categories: Accomplishment/Innovation, Character, and Teamwork. Together, their stories reflect the ownership, collaboration, and commitment that strengthen the work we deliver for clients and communities.
Please join us in celebrating our Winter 2026 Act of Excellence award recipients: Brian Bergstrom, Ariel Christenson, Dasan Hood Beckman, Trevor Jones, Saura Jost, and Joel Rector.
Accomplishment/Innovation
Dasan Hood Beckman, Drone Specialist
Natural Resources
The Act: Dasan responded quickly to an unexpected project need, providing added value for the client through drone footage and imagery beyond the original scope.
While in town, Dasan captured additional drone footage for the client, along with imagery of nearby land development projects. This gave the client more insight than expected and further strengthened the relationship.
This rapid response introduced the client to drone technology while showcasing SEH’s flexibility in meeting changing project needs. Dasan’s ability to mobilize across the country on extremely short notice reinforced that being based several states away is not a barrier to delivering high-quality work quickly, safely, and effectively.
His willingness to say yes, act decisively, and follow through exemplifies what it means to deliver exceptional service.
Character
Trevor Jones, Project Engineer
Structural Engineering
The Act: Trevor stepped in to support his team during a demanding bridge inspection assignment, demonstrating character, reliability, and a team-first mindset.
Trevor demonstrated that character and dedication through his commitment to both his team and SEH’s work. He spent a week on a bridge inspection trip across California and Nevada – long days, constant travel, and a new city each night.
While on that trip, the team encountered a staffing need for another two-week inspection effort. Without hesitation, Trevor volunteered to step in.
He returned to Denver, only to head back out the next day for another demanding assignment. The second trip brought more long days, daily travel, and extreme weather conditions. After more than 4,000 miles of driving in two weeks, Trevor maintained a positive attitude and showed up ready each day.
Recognizing the need and stepping up speaks to Trevor’s determination and team-first mindset. His continued hard work, reliability, and client-focused approach reflect a level of character that makes a lasting impact.

Architecture and Structural Engineering
The Act: This team worked together to navigate a complex structural challenge during the construction of a client facility, providing timely analysis, clear communication, and steady client support.
As unexpected conditions surfaced, the team responded quickly. They rearranged schedules, got eyes on the situation, and turned around critical structural analysis on an accelerated timeline, so the client had clear, reliable information to move forward.
Throughout it all, they kept communication open and honest – walking the client through what they were seeing, what it meant, and what options were available. They also developed clear, thoughtful documentation that met professional and ethical standards while helping keep the situation grounded and manageable.
Even as the findings pointed to significant impacts, the team stayed focused on solutions. They worked together, supported each other, and remained steady and professional through a challenging moment. Their responsiveness and clarity helped build confidence when it mattered most.
In the end, this was more than just technical problem-solving. It was about showing up as a team, doing the right thing, and reinforcing trust with the client through clear communication, collaboration, and technical leadership
