Jim Hall Named ASCE MN Outstanding Engineer of the Year

Jim Hall, PE^*, Regional Transportation Practice Leader at Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH^®), has been named the 2026 Outstanding Engineer of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Minnesota Section.

The award recognizes engineers with more than 20 years of experience who demonstrate technical excellence, professional leadership, and meaningful service to their communities. ASCE Minnesota selects honorees whose careers reflect long-term contribution to the civil engineering practice and the people it serves.

With more than 30 years of experience across the public and private sectors, Jim has played leadership roles on major Minnesota transportation projects, including the Twin Ports Interchange, the I 35E/County Road J interchange reconstruction, and Trunk Highway 95 improvements in Cambridge. He also brings extensive design build experience on large, complex projects.

Jim has been actively involved with ASCE throughout his career, serving on the Minnesota Section Transportation Committee, Board of Directors, and as Section President from 2016–2017.

At SEH, Jim provides senior leadership for transportation services, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, reliable solutions for clients across the region.
