SEH Board of Directors Announces 9 New Principals for 2022

The SEH Board of Directors has named 9 new company Principals – Pat Fehrenbach, Justin Gese, Scott Hedlund, Scott Jardine, Keith Kindred, Hillary Olson, Bryan Remer, Chad Setterholm and Darren Stewart.

The Principal program recognizes and financially rewards employees for sustained, exceptional performance in the areas of business leadership, technical expertise, project management, client service and business development. As a 100% employee-owned company, our employees are provided stock ownership and financial reward opportunities through the SEH Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Principals are eligible for higher levels of ownership.

After careful evaluation, the SEH Board of Directors has approved 9 new additions – each instrumental to SEH’s growth and success. Congratulations to this year’s class! Get to know our new Principals below.

Pat Fehrenbach

Pat Fehrenbach, AIA, LEED AP®
Senior Architect | Architecture

Pat is a senior architect with 33+ years of architectural design experience. Throughout his diverse and expansive career, he has worked on a variety of project types – including industrial, education, retail, commercial, municipal and hospitality. Since joining SEH in 2014, he has managed a mix of state, federal, local government and private clients. Pat’s primary focus is the company’s ongoing work at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin, a U.S. Army installation base where he has managed over 60 projects. His responsibilities often include programming, conceptual design, entitlements, project management, code analysis and construction administration.

Justin Gese

Justin Gese, PE*
Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Justin is a senior civil engineer and project manager with 22+ years of experience, all with SEH. As a project manager, he regularly leads feasibility study development, preliminary and final design, cost estimating, and the preparation of plans and specifications. Justin also has extensive construction management and complex urban corridor project design experience. In addition to his client and project responsibilities, Justin co-leads the Civil Group in the Minnetonka, Minnesota, office – focusing on increasing market share, securing new work, and empowering colleagues to grow into future project managers and leaders.

Scott Hedlund

Scott Hedlund, PE*, PMP
Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Scott is a senior engineer with over 26 years of experience – including roles as city engineer, client manager, project manager and project engineer. With SEH since 1997, he has designed, inspected and managed all aspects of many public street, trail, utility and traffic signal projects. This includes leading multi-consultant and multidisciplined project teams. Scott's experience also includes state and federal project development reports, preliminary and final design, and construction administration.

Scott Jardine

Scott Jardine, PE*, LEED AP®
Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Scott is a senior engineer and senior project manager with 27 years of experience in civil engineering design and construction inspection. Throughout his career, he has worked with private, municipal and federal clients on a wide variety of projects – including master planned communities, commercial sites, fire stations, underground utilities, water wells, roadway projects, parks and trails, and regional stormwater detention facilities. Joining SEH in 2013, Scott is a supervisor, client service manager, mentor and previously led the SEH Sustainability Committee.

Keith Kindred

Keith Kindred, PE*
Regional Practice Center Leader | Survey

Keith leads SEH’s surveying efforts in Wisconsin and Indiana. He joined SEH in 1984 and has four decades of experience providing survey services to municipal and private clients. Keith is regularly responsible for the daily planning, coordination and supervision of SEH survey field crews. He oversees the quality and accuracy of all survey data collection and right-of-way/property research, as well as the preparation of any surveying plats, maps and exhibits.

Hillary Olson

Hillary Olson
Senior Strategic Pursuit Manager | Marketing

Hillary is SEH’s pursuit manager responsible for the daily operations of the company’s team of proposal coordinators and writers who produce quality, visually appealing and client-centered proposals and interviews. She has 24 years of experience as a marketing professional and manager, and since 2012 has helped position SEH teams to win work through client and pursuit strategy, as well as cross-regional/practice center collaboration.

Bryan Remer

Bryan Remer, PE, P.Eng*
Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Bryan is a senior engineer and project manager with 18+ years of experience leading industrial and commercial development projects centered around rail access. Joining SEH in 2004, he has led multi-consultant and multidisciplined teams, and has designed facilities with 1-2 car-per-day needs all the way up to multiple-unit trains per day. Bryan has led projects across North America that include commodities from scrap metal, oil, liquefied petroleum gas, sand and grains, and soybean meal. He is also actively involved in the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association Subcommittee 14.

Chad Setterholm

Chad Setterholm, PE*
Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Chad is a senior engineer, project manager and client service manager with nearly three decades of experience in a variety of municipal engineering and pavement management projects. With SEH since 1999, he provides innovative and industry-leading design expertise for clients as well as civil-related services to many SEH practices. Chad leads essential business and operational functions within SEH’s St. Paul, Minnesota, civil engineering team – including staff supervision, project management, mentorship and coaching.

Darren Stewart

Darren Stewart, PE*
Senior Engineer | Civil Engineering

Darren is a senior project engineer with 24 years of experience in civil and land development engineering. As a project manager, he regularly works on municipal and federal projects from small utility repairs to expansive new roadways. Joining SEH in 2004, Darren's experience includes commercial and residential development for multiple ski resorts in the Mountain West, and he has broad bid phase and construction management experience. Darren has also developed feasibility and cost analyses, conceptual designs, site grading, drainage, as well as roadway and utility designs.
